When it comes to designing water supply systems, tall buildings present a challenge. To ensure ideal water pressure at all levels of the building, appropriate adjustments must be made.  

There are several ways to address this challenge. Pressure zoning, floor control, individual control and reservoir utilisation.

  • Division into pressure zones
    Several storeys are grouped together and protected by a pressure reducing valve.
  • Storey control
    Each storey that requires water pressure reduction is equipped with its own pressure reducer. Each pressure reducing valve can then be adjusted individually.  
  • Single control
    Each flat/office that requires water pressure reduction is equipped with its own pressure reducer. Each pressure reducing valve can then be set individually. Interruption of the water supply during maintenance is thus minimised.  
  • Reservoir use
    The water is pumped into an elevated tank on the roof of the building to be supplied.  Gravity causes the water to flow to the individual storeys that are too high to be adequately supplied with the municipal pressure.
